Bwat Free Plan Update: VS Code Access Ends August 20 – Upgrade to Pro
We’re making a change to how Bwat works – and we want you to be ready for it.
What’s happening?
Starting August 20, the Free plan will no longer give you access to Bwat’s code-generation and editing tools inside Visual Studio Code. If you’re currently on the Free tier and using the Bwat VS Code extension, after that date you won’t be able to use it unless you upgrade to the Pro plan.
Important: The Free plan itself isn’t going away. You can still use Bwat for free on our web app, desktop app, and mobile app. This change only affects the coding experience within VS Code.
This adjustment helps us focus on building more powerful features for everyone who relies on Bwat daily – and it means you get a better, more complete tool.
What you need to do
If you want to keep using Bwat in VS Code without interruption, just upgrade to Pro before August 20. It’s quick:
- Open Bwat in your Visual Studio Code (using the Bwat extension).
- Run the command
/upgrade. - Follow the prompts to choose your plan.
That’s it. Your projects and settings will carry over seamlessly.
What you get with Pro
Pro isn’t just “the same thing but paid.” It unlocks a whole new set of capabilities that make Bwat even more useful for real-world projects.
Voice Mode
One standout addition is Voice Mode – Bwat can now speak to you out loud. Get real-time audio feedback on your code, hear explanations, or even dictate changes hands-free. It’s like having a coding partner who can talk back.
Social Media management module
Another highlight is the Social Media management module. It helps you plan, schedule, and publish content across multiple platforms – all from within your coding environment. No more jumping between tools or manually copying posts. You can work on your code, your marketing, and your content in one place.
UG Legal Database integration
For users working in regulated environments, Pro gives you access to the UG Legal Database integration. Quickly reference up-to-date legal texts, compliance documents, and case law – directly inside Bwat. It’s a game-changer for legal tech, compliance teams, and anyone who needs accurate legal information at their fingertips.
Higher usage tiers
Pro also gives you higher usage limits than the Free tier. That means more requests, larger projects, and faster responses – so you can push your work further without waiting.
And much more
Voice mode, social media, legal database – and we’re just getting started. Pro also includes other advanced modules and capabilities that automate repetitive tasks, integrate with your favourite services, and let you handle bigger projects without the overhead. Think of it as upgrading from a bicycle to a full workshop.
Ready to upgrade? Just run /upgrade inside Bwat in VS Code. It takes less than a minute to get started.
A note for current Free users
We understand change can be annoying. If you’ve been enjoying Bwat on the Free plan, we’re grateful you gave us a try. Upgrading to Pro not only keeps your workflow going in VS Code – it also gives you tools that save you time and open up new possibilities.
Still have questions? Head over to our help docs or reach out to support. We’re here to help you make the switch smoothly.
Mark your calendar
August 20 is the date. Don’t wait until the last minute – upgrade now and keep building with Bwat.
